Custom concrete pools

Designed for your block, not a brochure

Every Duskwater pool starts as a survey of your backyard, not a page in a catalogue. Engineered concrete shells sprayed and steel-fixed on site, fully-tiled or pebble interiors, wet edges and spas where the block earns them — built by our own crews, never labour-hire.

Compact plunge pool in a lush inner-city Brisbane courtyard

Plunge & courtyard pools

Small blocks, big afternoons

Inner-city block with a two-metre side path? That’s most of our work. Compact plunge pools craned in over the roofline, heated for year-round swims, wrapped in planting that makes a 405m² block feel like a resort courtyard.

Surrounds & outdoor living

The pool is half the picture

Travertine that stays cool underfoot, frameless glass fencing that disappears, lighting that earns the word twilight. We build the whole backyard around the water — one builder, one schedule, one handover.

From lawn to first swim

A pool build should feel like a countdown, not a mystery. Here's the path from site visit to pool school.

STEP 01

Site & soil

We walk the block, check access and dig a soil story before anything is drawn. Rock and access get priced up front, not discovered.

Week 1
STEP 02

Design & 3D concept

Your pool designed for the block and the way you’ll use it — shape, depths, finishes and surrounds, rendered so you can walk it before you commit.

Weeks 2–4
STEP 03

Fixed quote & approvals

One itemised, fixed price. Then we run the engineering, building approval and pool-safety compliance while you pick tiles.

Weeks 5–8
STEP 04

The build

Excavation, steel, concrete spray, interior, paving, fence — one site manager, weekly photo updates, a schedule you can hold us to.

Weeks 9–20
STEP 05

Handover & pool school

Pool-safety certificate, sparkling startup, and a proper walkthrough of the equipment so you actually know how to run it.

“The 3D design sold us, the fixed price kept us, and the finished pool is better than the render. They hit rock on day two and the price never moved.”

“A plunge pool on a tiny Paddington block — craned in over the house before smoko. The neighbours still talk about crane day.”

“Pool, travertine, glass fence and the garden — one builder, one schedule. We were swimming by Christmas, exactly as promised.”

“They handled the certifier, the fence inspection, all of it. Pool school at handover meant we actually know how to run the thing.”

“Fully-tiled and worth every cent. At night with the lights on it looks like a hotel we can’t afford to stay in.”

“Our second pool build, different house. The first builder disappeared mid-dig years ago; Duskwater sent a schedule and then beat it.”

Questions, answered

What does a concrete pool actually cost?

Most Duskwater concrete pools land between $75,000 and $130,000 including interior, filtration and startup — a small courtyard build starts around $55,000, and a big fully-tiled lap pool with a spa runs past $160,000. A compact plunge pool starts from around $45,000. The configurator above prices your own combination; the fixed quote follows a site visit and soil test, and it includes rock and access up front.

Concrete or fibreglass?

We build both. Concrete means any shape, any depth, any interior — it’s what the resort look is made of. Fibreglass is faster in the ground and gentler on the budget. The designer above prices our concrete builds; ask us for a fibreglass comparison and we’ll tell you straight which one your block and your plans actually justify.

Do you handle approvals and pool fencing rules?

All of it — engineering, building approval through a private certifier, and Queensland pool-safety compliance including the final certificate. You never speak to a council counter.

How long does a pool take?

Approvals typically run 4–8 weeks, then 10–16 weeks on site from dig to swimming. You get the schedule at quote stage and weekly photo updates against it.
